Instagram Audio as a Ringtone: Android and iPhone
You can turn the sound from a reel into a ringtone, but you must use audio you are allowed to use. Use clips you created, or sounds with permission. Here is the process.
Step 1: Save the audio
Copy the reel link, paste it into AudioFromReels, and download as MP3 (Android) or M4A (handy for iPhone).
Step 2: Trim to the part you want
Ringtones should be short, ideally under 30 seconds. Use a free editor such as Audacity on a computer, or a trimming app on your phone, and fade the end so it does not cut off abruptly.
On Android
- Move the trimmed MP3 into the phone's Ringtones folder using Files or a computer.
- Open Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone.
- Choose your file from the list.
Many Android phones also let you pick the file via Add from device in the ringtone list.
On iPhone
- Open the file in GarageBand (free from the App Store) and import it as an audio track.
- Trim the loop to 30 seconds or less.
- Use Share > Ringtone to export it.
- Choose Use sound as... > Standard Ringtone, or set it later in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
Tips
- Pick a section with a clear start so you notice it.
- Avoid very quiet intros.
- Use a different tone for alarms so you can tell them apart.
